Nuggets is a granddaughter of Diamond Eyes, APHA, a palomino overo stallion,
and traces back to the renowned
Mister J Bar on both her top & bottom. With 7 generations of palomino behind her, we feel that Nuggets is capable of being a consistent palomino producer  when crossed on Shades' rich chestnut coloring.

"Nuggets" produced her first foal for us in 1999, an awesome palomino overo colt we named Gotta Wear Gold, AKA Denver. We showed him his weanling year, and he did great, with 2 Grand Champions to show for it! For the year 2000, she produced a loud palomino overo filly,  Gotta Wear Diamonds, AKA Fawnawho also was a Grand Champion at her only show! In 2002, Nugget's produced Shades Golden Diva, aka Sierra, another frame palomino filly that is marked like her daddy, and colored like mom. In 2003, we got another filly, but Turbo is our first chestnut, like Dad. She appears to express the tobiano gene for the first time in her parents breeding history, and was registered as a Tovero. For 2004, we are still tops in the filly category, but Rosie is back to palomino, and is the first true Tovero cross between Nuggets & Shades. For 2005 we again got a filly, but we are back to chestnut and another interestingly marked tovero!
Update: Nuggets was bred to Wholelottaderby, a black quarter horse for a 2006 foal, and this year we got that colt! He can be seen on the Foals of 2006 page along with a link to his Sire's site. All of Nuggets'foals are on our Foal Scrapbook page.

"Rosie" is a daughter of Docscherokee Sunup APHA, a sorrel tobiano, who traces back to Skip's Rapid Bar, Doc's J Jay, Doc Bar, Lightning Bar, Rapid Bar, Three Bars, Poco's Vandy, Skiparado, Skips Lad and Skip Hi.

Her dam, Ima Sparklin Rose AQHA, a sorrel mare, who traces to Docs J Jay, Doc Bar, Lightning Bar, Carlita, Jester, Holy Smoke, Bar W Dream, Hug Bars and Three Bars.

Rosie, is a big ranch bred mare, who we crossed on Shades for one year, while waiting
for Gunner to be old enough to breed in 2006. Gunners absence of the lethal gene, combined with his palomino on her chestnut, should make for some nicely marked toveros with a high percentage of palomino!

Update: Rosie foaled a chestnut tovero filly on March 22, who can be seen on our
Foals of 2006 page. She's a darling!

1995 Black Overo Mare
Sired by
our own: Gotta Wear Shades

"Mocha" is our 1st daughter out of our 1st foal crop from Shades. Mocha won numerous awards, while she was our top show baby. Her dam, "Chako" is a black breeding stock mare, and was our top broodmare, until we met a lady who begged me to sell her. After a long consideration, we agreed to sell her, since we had decided to keep Mocha, who is black AND overo. She was bred to Kenos Riverdance a cremello tobiano stallion, for a 2002 foal. With their color genetics, they are guaranteed to produce 50% Palominos and the other 50% will be divided between smoky black, grulla, buckskin and dun.

After the year of waiting, Mocha and Dancer produced
Kenos Shady Shamrock, aka Shammy, an awesome palomino filly! She has an apron face with dark eyes and eyeliner and two high white stockings. Mocha was bred back to Kenos Riverdance for a 2003 foal, and the result was CR Gunner in Gold, aka Gunner, a palomino tobiano colt. As nice as Gunner is, he will be standing along side of grandpa, about the year 2006!

Mocha had a 2005 colt by
Sonnys Amigo Bar, a World Champion Homozygous Black tobiano stallion, and he can be seen on the Foals of 2005 page. He is also quite special, and will be a keeper for us!
